Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the GetAI Chrome extension, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

GetAI is a Chrome extension that uses artificial intelligence to extract structured data from web pages based on natural language queries. The Service operates through a side panel interface and includes:

  • Natural language data extraction from any webpage.
  • Smart Selection Mode for targeting specific regions of a page.
  • Export of extracted data in JSON, CSV, and table formats.
  • A credit-based usage system with cost estimation before each extraction.

All AI processing is performed server-side. Page content you submit is sent to our backend, which forwards it to a third-party AI provider for processing. No API keys are exposed in the browser.

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account with a valid email address and a password of at least 8 characters. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You may not share your account or allow others to access it.

You may log out at any time, which revokes all active sessions. You may only register one account per email address.

4. Credits and Payments

GetAI operates on a credit-based system. Here is how credits work:

  • Free credits: New users receive 50 free credits upon registration.
  • Purchasing credits: Additional credits can be purchased through the extension. Payments are processed securely via Stripe. Currently, one credit pack is available: 30 credits for €1.50 (one-time, repeatable purchase).
  • Credit calculation: Credits are calculated based on the size of the page content submitted. Every 4 characters count as 1 token, and 1 credit covers 1,000 tokens. The minimum cost per extraction is 1 credit.
  • Cost estimation: Before each extraction, GetAI displays the estimated credit cost. Credits are deducted before the AI processes your request.
  • Automatic refunds: If an extraction fails due to an AI processing error, the credits charged for that extraction are automatically refunded to your account.
  • No expiration: Purchased credits do not expire as long as the Service remains active.
  • Non-refundable: Credit purchases are non-refundable unless required by applicable law.

5. Acceptable Use

You are responsible for your use of the Service and for any consequences thereof. You agree to the following:

  • You will not use the Service to scrape data in violation of any website's terms of service or applicable laws.
  • You will not attempt to circumvent credit limits, rate limits, or any security measures of the Service.
  • You will not use the Service for automated high-frequency scraping or in a manner that strains our infrastructure. Extractions are rate-limited to 30 requests per minute per user.
  • You will not submit page content exceeding 500,000 characters or queries exceeding 2,000 characters per extraction.
  • You will not use the Service to extract personal data of individuals without a lawful basis, or in any way that violates privacy laws or regulations.
  • You will not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service's backend or AI processing components.

6. Data Handling

When you use the Service, the following data is processed and stored:

  • Account data: Your email address and an encrypted version of your password are stored securely. We never store your password in plain text.
  • Extraction logs: For each extraction, we log the query you submitted, the source URL and page title (if available), the number of credits used, token counts, processing duration, the extraction result, and the status (success or error).
  • Page content: The page content you submit is sent to a third-party AI provider for processing. We do not permanently store the raw page content you submit.
  • Activity logs: We maintain logs of account activity (logins, logouts, credit transactions) for security and support purposes.

7. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on the following third-party providers:

  • AI processing: Page content and queries are sent to a third-party AI provider for data extraction. Their use of your data is governed by their respective privacy policies.
  • Payments: Credit purchases are processed through Stripe. Your payment information is handled directly by Stripe and is never stored on our servers.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, and functionality, is the exclusive property of GetAI and its licensors. You retain full ownership of any data you extract using the Service.

9. Service Availability

We strive to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance, updates, or reasons beyond our control. We are not liable for any losses resulting from Service unavailability.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GetAI and its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses arising from:

  • Your use of or inability to use the Service.
  • Inaccurate, incomplete, or missing data in extraction results.
  • Unauthorized access to your account due to your failure to secure your credentials.
  • Actions taken based on extracted data.

The Service extracts data using AI, which may produce inaccurate or incomplete results. You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of any extracted data before relying on it.

11. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or engage in activity that harms other users or our infrastructure. Upon termination, your access to the Service and any remaining credits will be forfeited.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
