1. Getting Started

Installation

1. Visit the GetAI Chrome Web Store page and click "Add to Chrome".
2. Confirm the installation when prompted by Chrome.
3. The GetAI icon will appear in your Chrome toolbar. You may need to click the puzzle-piece icon and pin it for quick access.

Creating an Account

1. Click the GetAI icon in your toolbar (or press Ctrl+Shift+X) to open the side panel.
2. Toggle to "Create Account" and enter your email address and a password (minimum 8 characters).
3. Click "Create Account" to register.
4. You will receive 50 free credits immediately upon signup — no credit card required.

2. Extracting Data

GetAI lets you extract structured data from any webpage using plain English. Here's how:

1. Navigate to the webpage you want to extract data from.
2. Open the GetAI side panel.
3. Type a natural language query describing the data you want. For example:
   • "Extract all product names and prices"
   • "Get the email addresses and phone numbers"
   • "List all job titles and locations from this page"
4. Click "Extract from page".
5. GetAI will show you a preview of the page content that will be sent, along with the estimated credit cost.
6. Review the estimate, then click "Process with AI" to confirm — or cancel if you'd like to adjust your query.
7. Your structured results will appear in the panel.

Credits are only deducted after you confirm the extraction. Previewing the cost is always free.

3. Smart Selection Mode

Instead of extracting from the entire page, you can target a specific area to save credits and get more focused results.

1. Click "Start Selection Mode" in the side panel.
2. A blue overlay will appear on the page. Click and drag to draw a rectangle around the content you want.
3. Release the mouse button. The selected content will be captured automatically.
4. Type your query and proceed as usual. Only the selected content will be sent for extraction.

Press Esc at any time to cancel selection mode.

Tip: Smart Selection is a great way to reduce credit usage on large pages. By selecting only the relevant section (e.g., a product table), you send fewer tokens and pay fewer credits.

4. Viewing & Exporting Results

After a successful extraction, your results can be viewed in multiple formats:

• Table — A clean, readable table view (default).
• CSV — Comma-separated values, ready to paste into a spreadsheet.
• JSON — Structured data for developers and automation tools.

You can switch between formats using the tabs above the results area. To export your data, click the "Download as Excel" button to save an .xlsx file to your computer.

5. Credits & Pricing

How credits work

Credits are GetAI's pay-as-you-go currency. The cost of each extraction depends on how much page content you send:

• Every 4 characters of text count as 1 token.
• 1 credit covers 1,000 tokens (roughly 4,000 characters of page content).
• The minimum cost per extraction is 1 credit.

Before every extraction, GetAI shows you the exact number of credits required. You always know the cost before you pay.

Free credits

Every new account receives 50 free credits on signup. No credit card needed.

Purchasing credits

When you need more credits, you can buy them directly from within the extension. The current credit pack is:

You can purchase this pack as many times as you need. Credits never expire and accumulate in your account. Payments are processed securely by Stripe — we never see or store your card details.

Credit balance

Your current credit balance is always visible at the top of the extension panel. It updates in real-time after each extraction or purchase.

6. Extraction History

GetAI keeps a log of all your past extractions. Open the History tab in the side panel to see:

• The query you used for each extraction.
• The source URL and page title.
• Credits consumed.
• Whether the extraction succeeded or failed.
• When the extraction was performed.

The history tab also shows summary statistics at the top: total extractions, total credits used, and your success rate.

7. Account & Security

• Password security — Your password is securely encrypted before storage. We never store or access your plain-text password.
• Session management — GetAI uses short-lived access tokens that refresh automatically. If your session expires, you will be prompted to log in again.
• Logging out — Click the Settings tab, then "Log Out". This clears all stored tokens from your browser and revokes the session on the server.
• Data encryption — All communication between the extension and our servers happens over HTTPS.

9. Refunds & Failed Extractions

Automatic refunds on failure

If an extraction fails due to a server or AI error after your credits have been deducted, GetAI automatically refunds the credits to your account. You will never lose credits to a failed extraction.

Confirm before you pay

Credits are only deducted after you explicitly click "Process with AI". The estimation step (where you see the token count and cost) is always free. If you cancel before confirming, no credits are used.

Credit purchases

Credit purchases are one-time, non-subscription payments. If you believe a purchase was made in error, please contact us at tsotos@gmail.com and we will review your case.

10. Limits & Restrictions

• Rate limit — You can perform up to 10 extractions per minute. This prevents abuse and ensures the service stays fast for everyone.
• Page size limit — Pages can contain up to 500,000 characters of text content.
• Minimum cost — Every extraction costs at least 1 credit, regardless of page size.
• Supported browsers — GetAI is a Chrome extension and requires Google Chrome (or Chromium-based browsers that support Chrome Web Store extensions).
• Age requirement — The service is not intended for users under the age of 16.

11. Troubleshooting

The side panel won't open

Make sure the extension is installed and enabled. Go to chrome://extensions, find GetAI, and ensure it is toggled on. You can also try pressing Ctrl+Shift+X.

I'm getting "Insufficient credits"

Your credit balance is too low for the extraction you requested. You can either purchase more credits from within the extension, or use Smart Selection Mode to select a smaller portion of the page and reduce the cost.

"Too many requests" error

You've hit the rate limit. Wait a moment and try again. The limit resets within one minute.

Extraction returned unexpected results

Try rephrasing your query to be more specific. For example, instead of "get data", try "extract the product name, price, and rating from each listing". The more precise your query, the better the results.

I was logged out unexpectedly

Sessions expire automatically for security. Simply log in again with your email and password. Your credits and history are safely stored on your account.
